At New Mexico Sonographics, We Serve You
Providing Obstetrical and Gynecological 3D/4D ultrasounds throughout New Mexico and Arizona.
- Ultrasounds (sonograms) are performed by Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in accordance with the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) guidelines.
- Ultrasounds are interpreted by highly specialized physicians: Perinatologists who are Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician specialists provide consultation for high-risk conditions, both in-person and virtually.
- Genetic screening and diagnostic services are available when needed.
Obstetrical Ultrasounds
- Our sonographers have specialized training in perinatology (high risk obstetrics) ultrasound with a particular focus in fetal echo cardiography (fetal heart ultrasound).
- Our sonographers are required to hold specialized fetal echo cardiography qualifications.
- Fewer than 3% of sonographers have this specialized qualification.
- Pregnancy ultrasounds, range from routine to the detailed examinations used to estimate fetal size, fetal age, growth and development, evaluate for possible birth defects.
- Genetic ultrasound is a more detailed evaluation of fetal neck and, later in pregnancy, fetal anatomy.
Gynecological Ultrasounds
- Sonographers specifically trained to perform pelvic ultrasounds.
- Gynecology ultrasounds can assist in evaluating/diagnosing a variety of conditions, including:
- IUD placement
- Abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain
- Uterine fibroids and polyps
- Certain female organ related cancers
- Pain mapping to help identify the source of pelvic pain
- Many other GYN related conditions
